(Another old draft I never posted from April 10th)
I never thought, as a child, teenager, or young adult, that I wanted to be a stay-at-home-mom. I saw myself as a business woman first, which somehow grew into wanting to be a country music star (remember my day with Roy Clark?), into a music teacher, then a human resources manager. Here I am, an elementary teacher. All kinds of reasons why those others didn't work out. And what's fun about my job, is I can pretty much work in some facets of all those other jobs into this one.
There can understandably be a misconception that I am 'tired of teaching'. Yes, I'm a teacher, and teaching makes you tired. Particularly this time of year. However, there are some days I can hardly picture an August rolling around without the nervous and excited anticipation of the new lives I get to be a part of, the stories I get to tell them, the funny things they'll do that may or may not make it into the funny book...
